DataNew Feature:

Card Designer Redesign

  • Card Designer has been overhauled
    • New simpler design
    • Card Data viewer and Layers are by default hidden

      • editing of card data fields
      • creating new cards
      • creating new fields
      • automatic default creation of data driven text and shapes

New Feature:

Text Tab Attributes

  • New Text attributes
    • ability to set size
    • justification now supported

New Feature:

New Image Attribute

  • New Image attribute
    • Image can be displayed in reverse. This is useful for turning ink drawings into negative or color relief (e.g. border designs)

New Feature:

Data Deck Copy and Paste

  • Data Decks
    • Copy and paste cell contents with right click on cells

Improvements:

  • PDF exporter
    • PDF output files can now be named
    • exported PDF can be opened from within TTA
  • Data Decks
    • Data decks can now be archived
  • Data Deck
    • Image tooltips now do not cover the associated cell

Fixes:

  • PDF exporter
    • random line on upper right of each card no longer appears
    • A card deck with no data is rendered for cases where a card deck may have only one design (e.g. rules)
  • Text Tab layout improved
  • Grid Tab back color accepts full transparency without making the grid disappear
  • Image uploads now immediately available

New Feature:

Rule designer

Use the rule designer to manage and structure the rules to your game. You can also add a header or side image to each rule

New Feature:

New Image Library

Use the completely new image library to manage your images. Tag , search and organize your images. Also allows updating of image throughout the board game.

New Feature:

Card Designer Keys

When in the card designer use the left and right keys to move between card.

Up and down keys will move through the layers of the design

Improvements:

Images are now handled with history. So images can be updated via the Image Library and the changes will reflect throughout TTA

New Feature:

Color Data Type

The color data type has been introduced to Tabletop Architect. This allows visual creation of color data into a data deck. Dynamic color used in design elements allows easy color variations and editing in your designs.

See the tutorial video here:

Color Data

New Feature:

Dynamic Color in Design Elements

Each design element (text, rectangle, circle, hex and grid) now allows color options to be selected as dynamic and linked to the new color data type.

This is a powerful feature that enables easy color allocation and editing to design elements.

Dynamic Color

New Feature:

Data Deck Column Sorting

Data deck columns can now be sorted.

WARNING: Using this feature will most likely break any data updates from external sources

Data Column Sorting

Fixes:

  • General improvements
  • Fixed grid element colors (background and fill) that were not working properly

New Feature:

Simplified Universal File & Folder Browser

Due to the recent versions of Windows and MacOS breaking some of the file and folder browser dialogs, TTA is now using a simple universal file browser.

Improvements:

  • Fonts and Image now refresh better

Fixes:

  • Many minor betterments
  • The image browser will now show an image placeholder until full loaded, rather than a random preloaded image
  • New image layout (fit, fill, stretch) will now correctly default to stretch

New Feature:

Stretch, Fit or Fill Images

An option group has been added to allow Deck Designer image elements to either:

STRETCH (previously supported):

  • stretch the image to the boundaries of the image rectangle. This can result in distorted images.

FIT (new!):

  • fit the image within the boundaries of the image rectangle

Fill (new!):

  • fill the image rectangle boundaries with the image without stretching. This may crop some of the image. The image is centered within the image rectangle boundary.

Improvements:

  • When opening a board game that was created by a different version of Tabletop Architect, you will be prompted to upgrade or downgrade the board game. If working with TTA on multiple machines or with other folks, this will prevent possible loss of game data
  • The board game list has improved in content and visually
  • Better support for Apple silicon machines

Fixes:

  • Many minor tweaks
  • In the deck designer, dynamic images no longer cause all the images to show as empty when a change is made in the image tab
  • The data deck is now properly refreshed when switching between board games

New Feature:

PDF Export Options

An export option dialog is now available when export to PDF.

The new options allow control over the look of the deck designs (such as print borders) and the ability to select which Deck design to export.

New Features:

Advanced capabilities to the Grid Element

A lot of new features have been added to the grid element:

(A) – Hex Grid now follows a more conventional structure when specifying row and height

A row consists of the left most hex cell and then any cells adjacent to the right and the height is the combination of these rows. For example 1 row 5 columns is now

Two rows 5 columns is now

(B) Data driven grid fields for population and size

Grids can now have their options driven by the data deck. This allows altering shapes and auto population of cell content such as imagery and text. This also includes data driven sequences to define cell content. When the sequence option is enabled, the selected data column is considered to be the first column in the sequence that persists until either there are no more grid cells, no more columns or the column type changes. e.g. The text content sequence is activated for a data column called “text1”, the sequence (i.e. the next cells) continues as “text2”, “text3”, etc..

(C) Cell text content can have font, size and color defined

If text is used in the cell, the font, size and color can be defined

New Feature:

Hex Grid Design Element

The Hex Grid Design Element has been added to the Deck Designer. This allows the creation of hex grids to be used in all designs for cards, boards, etc..

The Hex Grid can be created by adding a normal rectangular grid and then selecting Hex Grid in the grid options.  The Hex Flat Width field defines the size of the horizontal ‘flat’ sides (top and bottom)
